Three settings
worth checking.

Actual size

Choose “Actual size” or “Fit to page”, never “Scale to fit media” — that one crops the drawing at the edges without telling you.

100 gsm or more

Plain copier paper is fine for pencils. Markers need at least 100 gsm, ideally 120, or the colour comes through onto the next sheet.

No draft mode

Economy and draft settings thin the lines until alcohol markers escape through them. Print these at normal quality, black ink only.

/05 — About these sheets

Fall, slowly.

Autumn is the easiest season to colour badly. Everyone reaches for the same three oranges and the page ends up looking like a bag of sweets. The sheets here are drawn to reward the opposite approach: a lot of ochre and unbleached brown, one real red used sparingly, and large areas left as bare paper so the eye has somewhere to rest.

The scenes are the small mechanics of the season rather than its postcard. An apple press mid-work. Jumpers folded on a chair next to a basket of apples. Ducks crossing a puddle in coats, which is the sort of thing that only happens in drawings and should happen more often. A shelf where a squirrel has been organising acorns by size.

Line weight matters more in autumn scenes than in any other because of the leaves. Every sheet here keeps leaf outlines thick enough to hold a marker tip without closing up, and there is no hatching anywhere — the texture you see is real drawn detail, not shading you have to work around.

If you are colouring through the season rather than for one evening, the full autumn pack has forty scenes and both line weights, so you can hand the bold version to someone using markers and keep the fine one for pencils.

/06 — Questions

Asked often.

What pencils work best for autumn scenes?

Anything with a soft core layers well over these outlines — the usual wax-based sets are ideal. Water-based markers also work; alcohol markers need paper of at least 120 gsm or they will strike through.

Are these the same as the Thanksgiving pages?

No, they are separate collections. The Thanksgiving sheets are about the table and the harvest; these are about the season outdoors and indoors generally.

Can I print them more than once?

As many times as you like, for yourself and for one classroom or group. Selling or re-sharing the files is not allowed.

Do I need to sign up?

No. Click a sheet, the PDF downloads. There is no email wall anywhere on this site.
